Relating with Integrity
We have relationships with partners, family, friends, colleagues, teams and with ourselves. The context changes, but familiar patterns can follow us from one relationship to another.
You may be capable, responsible and confident on the outside, while privately overthinking, adapting, people-pleasing, over-functioning or wondering where you fit.
Relationship coaching creates space to understand how you relate, recognise what is yours, and make choices with greater clarity, self-trust and integrity.

Relationship
With Yourself
Every relationship is influenced by the relationship you have with yourself.
When self-trust is low, decisions can become exhausting. You may question your instincts, look outside yourself for reassurance or change your position depending on who you are with. You may know what you think intellectually but struggle to stand by it emotionally.
Masking, people-pleasing, over-functioning and performing can make it difficult to separate what you genuinely want from what you have learned to do to maintain connection or approval.
This part of the work is about strengthening your inner compass.
The work may help you
-
understand yourself beneath familiar roles and coping strategies
-
recognise what you genuinely want, need and value
-
build greater trust in your own judgement
-
communicate needs and boundaries more honestly
-
make decisions with less second-guessing
The aim is not to become a different version of yourself, it is to feel more able to be yourself.
Personal Relationships

The people closest to us often bring our patterns into sharp focus. This may show up with a partner, while dating, in friendships, with parents, children, siblings or across generations in a family.
It can also show up when your choices do not follow the traditional path expected of you - choosing not to have children, living differently from your family, building a life outside conventional roles, or creating distance from relationships that no longer fit.
You may find yourself becoming the strong one, the peacekeeper, the responsible one or the person who carries more than your share. At the same time you may feel unseen, misunderstood, unsure whether to stay or leave, caught in recurring conflict, or frustrated that the same dynamic keeps appearing again and again.
You may also be navigating the tension between belonging and choosing a life that feels true to you - especially when family expectations, cultural norms or generational beliefs do not match the way you want to live.
The work may help you
-
gain clarity about what you want from your relationships and your life
-
recognise recurring roles and patterns
-
separate your own choices from inherited expectations
-
understand what happens when you feel triggered or misunderstood
-
communicate more openly and honestly
-
navigate conflict and boundaries with greater awareness
-
trust your judgement when making relationship and lifestyle decisions
-
stay connected to yourself while being close to someone else
The aim is not to create perfect relationships or follow a prescribed version of life, but to have more awareness and choice within them.

Professional
Relationships
You can be highly capable at work and still find relationships one of the most demanding parts of your professional life.
You may take on too much, struggle to delegate, avoid difficult conversations, feel responsible for everyone around you or appear confident while privately questioning yourself.
For some people, work also becomes the place where they feel most competent or in control. Without consciously choosing it, work can begin to take more and more space while personal relationships receive what is left.
As a leader or director, you may feel that everything depends on you.
As a manager, you may over-function for your team, take all responsibility on you.
As part of a team, you may people-please, stay quiet when you disagree or overthink how others perceive you.
The work may help you
-
recognise the patterns shaping how you work with others
-
distinguish responsibility from over-responsibility
-
communicate with greater clarity and confidence
-
navigate conflict and difficult conversations
-
delegate and share responsibility more comfortably
-
understand the role work and achievement play in your identity
-
build more sustainable professional relationships
The goal is not to care less about your work, it is to have more choice over the role it plays in your life and how you relate within it.
Starting Point
When you start to understand the patterns in one relationship, you often begin to notice them elsewhere too. Sometimes you may need support with one specific situation; other times it takes longer to understand patterns that have been there for years.
We work at your pace, looking at the kind of relationships and life you want to create, what may be getting in the way, and what you want to do differently. The work is practical as well as reflective, so there is space between sessions to try things out, notice what changes and let the learning settle.
The aim is not to become someone else, but to build trust, create clarity and make choices from a place of freedom.
Relationship
Coach or Therapist?
Relationship coaching is not therapy, although some of the areas we explore may overlap - such as patterns, emotions, beliefs, boundaries and the way past experiences shape how you relate today.
The focus of coaching is on awareness, choice and change: understanding what is happening now, how you relate, what you want to create instead, and building a clearer vision for how you want to move forward.
From there, the work becomes practical - taking action, trying new ways of relating, making different choices and creating space to grow, expand and build relationships that feel more aligned with who you are.
For some situations, therapy or another specialist service will be more appropriate. You can read more about the difference between relationship coaching and therapy, and when I may recommend other support, on the dedicated page.

Complimentary Consultation
You do not need to know exactly what you want to work on before getting in touch.
In a complimentary 30-minute initial conversation, you can tell me what is happening, ask about my approach and see whether working together feels right.
We can then discuss whether a Clarity Session or a longer coaching partnership would be the best place to begin.
