Meet Kat

Kat is a coach, mentor and Registered Nurse with almost 20 years of experience working with people across physical health, mental health, ADHD, autism and complex care.

At Lumivera, her coaching focuses on the relationship you have with yourself, the relationships you have with others, and your direction in work. This includes personal and professional relationships, career development and the way you relate when you lead.

These areas often meet. You may be considering your next career step while questioning your confidence. You may be capable at work but find it difficult to speak honestly in a relationship. Or you may notice that the role you take in your family is familiar in your team too.

Kat’s work creates space to understand what is happening, decide what matters to you and try a different way forward.

The experience behind the work

Kat’s nursing career has included clinical practice, mental health, ADHD and autism assessment, specialist support, leadership and mentoring. She has worked with individuals and families as well as staff and teams.

That background gives her an awareness of how health, stress, neurodiversity and life circumstances can affect someone’s experience of work and relationships. It also means she pays attention to the person in front of her, rather than assuming the same approach will work for everyone.

Kat brings this experience into coaching with care for its boundaries. Coaching is a space for reflection, learning and action; it does not replace medical or mental health care.

Her own experience of significant personal and professional decisions has shaped her approach too. She has learned that confidence is not always something you feel before you act. It can develop as you make choices, test what fits and begin to trust your own judgement.

How Kat works

Kat starts by listening and understanding what brings you here. You may have a specific relationship or career decision to work through, or a pattern you have noticed across different parts of your life.

Her approach is integrative and trauma-informed. Together, you can look at what is happening in practical terms and explore the beliefs, emotions, body responses, experiences and habits that may be influencing it. There is time to think deeply, as well as space between sessions to try things out and notice what happens.

Coaching gives you room to find your own answers. When useful, Kat also brings mentoring, education and practical guidance. She may reflect something you have not noticed, challenge an assumption or help you turn an insight into a conversation, decision or action.

You remain the authority on your life. The work is designed to help you hear yourself more clearly, make choices you can stand behind and relate to others without losing yourself in the process.

Why this work is personal

Kat has always valued connection, yet there was a time when relationships felt difficult to build and sustain. When it seemed hard for others to open up, she began to close off too. Over time, she lost touch with the open, relational part of herself.

Entering the coaching space helped her find her voice again. Through her own inner work, she learned to listen more closely to herself, trust her intuition and be more honest about what she felt and wanted. Rigorous coaching training then gave her the skills and responsibility to support others in exploring their relationships.

Insight mattered, but it was what she did with it that changed her life. She began speaking more openly, making clearer choices and showing up with greater confidence and assertiveness. Some relationships ended, new ones began, and others grew into something more honest.

That experience remains close to the heart of her work: understanding yourself can open the door, but practising a different way of relating is how change becomes part of your life.
