Career Change & Transition Coaching

A Career Shaped by Change

My career has never followed a straight line. I moved from clinical nursing into mental health, neurodiversity, digital health, project leadership and eventually my own coaching practice.

Each transition taught me what it feels like when the way you have been working no longer quite fits where you are heading. That experience shaped how I work now: helping people make sense of uncertainty, see the bigger picture and build a bridge from where they are to what could come next.

You do not always need to know exactly what is on the other side. Sometimes you just need enough clarity to take the first step.

Where You May Be Now

You may know that something needs to change, but not yet know what that change should be. Work may have felt unfulfilling for a long time, or you may have reached a point of exhaustion, boredom, frustration or disconnection.

You might be questioning whether the problem is your role, your organisation, your profession, your workload or the way you are working. You may be facing a different kind of transition altogether: stepping into a more senior role, taking on leadership, changing direction after many years in one career, reducing your workload, preparing for retirement or wondering what you want the next stage of your working life to look like.

At the same time, there may be practical realities to consider, responsibilities you cannot ignore and several possible directions competing for your attention. It can leave you feeling caught between knowing that something is changing and not yet being able to see clearly what should come next.

The Work in the Middle

This is where we slow things down and explore what is really happening beneath the immediate question of “What should I do next?” We look more deeply at your experience, strengths, needs, values, energy, working patterns, environment and what has changed for you over time. We can map the different parts of the situation, question assumptions, identify what is no longer working and explore possibilities you may not have considered.

That might mean looking at changes within your current role, a different organisation or sector, a complete career shift, leadership, self-employment, portfolio work, returning to work differently or preparing for retirement. The aim is not to force an answer quickly, but to create a bridge between where you are now and what could become possible.

Turning Clarity Into Change

Insight matters, but career change also requires action. As the picture becomes clearer, we begin turning ideas into decisions, experiments and practical next steps.

You may research a direction, speak to people, test an idea, apply for a role, change something in your current work, develop a new skill, build a service or begin preparing for a larger transition. We use what happens next as information, rather than expecting you to get every decision right first time.

The transformation is not simply moving from one job to another; it is becoming clearer about what you need, more confident in the choices you are making and more able to move forward even when the whole path is not yet visible.
